I hadn't really thought much about this until I heard it mentioned at the town hall meeting, but it really is ugly to have large parking lots in front of commercial properties. The suggestion was that parking could be situated in back or to the side, but that the vast wasteland of blacktop doesn't need to be the predominant feature as one drives down 15th Street or McFarland.
