I want our electric, phone, and other cable delivered utilities moved underground and the poles replaced by trees and landscaping. I know that it is less expensive and much more time efficient to put up poles and string cables between them--especially when that is what is already in place. However, when the next big wind, severe thunderstorm, tornado, and/or hurricane comes, many of these above ground cables will, again, be knocked down. Also, placing these services underground and replacing the poles with trees will make the landscape much more visually appealing as well as reducing pollution.
